    At World Water Week in Stockholm 2017, the World Water Council will be engaging with stakeholders, sharing knowledge and bringing participants up-to-date with its advancement on crucial issues, including its initiatives on "Financing Water Infrastructure, "Water and Climate Change", "Integrated Water Resources Management" and “Water and Cities” among others. The 8th World Water Forum will be highly visible this year with a dedicated showcase event and a joint booth with the Council.

    IWRA XVI World Water Congress

    The XVIth World Water Congress “Bridging Science and Policy” will be held in Cancun, Mexico. The World Water Council will convene and participate in the following sessions:

     

    • Monday 29 May 2017, 09.30 – 12.20: President Braga will give the opening remarks at the XVI IWRA World Water Congress Opening Ceremony.
    • Monday 29 May 2017, 12.40 – 14.10: The World Water Council is convening a high-level paner entitled “Water and the SDGs”. The Panel will be moderated by Governor Torkil Jønch Clausen. Among the panelists there will be Bureau Member Karin Krchnak, and Governor José Carrera.

    In 2014, Turkish government published a water loss control regulation which enforces municipalities and utilities to announce large size water loss control tenders. Therefore, several local and international companies have started their water loss control projects. This event is strongly supported by Turkish government which provides a unique opportunity for the companies to present their valuable solutions to Turkish municipalities and utilities.

    The World Water Council, in cooperation with #ClimateIsWater members Global Water Partnership and International Water Association are convening a side event at the Bonn Climate Change Conference entitled “Implementation of NDCs – climate finance for water-related adaptation and mitigation action”. This is the first time the World Water Council is participating as official UNFCCC observer.
