At World Water Week in Stockholm 2017, the World Water Council will be engaging with stakeholders, sharing knowledge and bringing participants up-to-date with its advancement on crucial issues, including its initiatives on "Financing Water Infrastructure, "Water and Climate Change", "Integrated Water Resources Management" and “Water and Cities” among others. The 8th World Water Forum will be highly visible this year with a dedicated showcase event and a joint booth with the Council.
Increasing Financial Flows for Sanitation
Monday 28 August | 12:45-13:45 | World Water Council/8th World Water Forum booth (Booth 1, Folkets Hus) The World Water Council has recently initiated a work programme to identify and publicise new financial mechanisms that could help accelerate sanitation services in cities around the world. This informal lunch session is open to all participants who wish to learn more about the project or share their own experiences on the issue.
The Roundtable on financing water
Monday 28 August | 16:00-17:30 | Room: NL Pillar Hall Co-convened by the World Water Council, the OECD and the Dutch Government, the session will continue discussions initiated at World Water Week 2016 and at the inaugural meeting of the Roundtable, Paris, April 2017. Read more
Water to mitigate climate change: beyond the obvious
Tuesday 29 August | 16:00-17:30 | Room: NL Music Hall / Musiksalen This #ClimateIsWater event aims at clarifying the links between water, energy and mitigation and will showcase concrete technical and institutional low-carbon solutions in the field of water. It will take into account the larger international framework including the Sustainable Development Goals as well as the Paris Agreement on Climate, showcasing that water is a key connector to reach those ambitious targets. The session is co-convened by the World Water Council, the French Water Partnership and INBO, and will be followed by a cocktail on the Council/8th Forum joint booth. Read more

Wednesday 30 August | 11:00-12:30 | Room: FH Cabaret Building on the solutions that were formulated during past Forums and the outcomes of the 2nd Stakeholders Consultation meeting, this showcase event will seek to present the latest information on each of the Forum's preparatory processes and explain how to get involved in the run up to the event.
