Accelerating Source Water Protection for Africa’s water security, a Dakar 2021 World Water Forum pre-conference.
To help bridge the gap between the 2019 and 2021 World Water Weeks, we invite convenors to host a virtual adaptation of their World Water Week 2020-approved session(s) – from wherever they are – between 24 and 28 August 2020, under the umbrella of #WWWeek #AtHome.
How will it work?
“Innovate 4 Water” in Brisbane, Australia, will bring together diverse stakeholders from across the water and sanitation and broader water sectors – entrepreneurs / solutions providers, utilities, investors, large and small companies, ICT companies, agribusiness organisations, non-governmental organisations, UN agencies, and incubators – all of whom are contributing toward achieving SDG6.

Under the theme “Water Security in Dynamic Environments…Together We Can”, the Forum will provide a unique multi-stakeholder platform where water experts, policy creators and decision makers from around the world can work together to find joint solutions for challenges affecting the ability of nations to achieve water security. It will be an opportunity to discuss the diverse facets of water security in dynamic environments and its relation to climate change, sustainable development and water technological advancements.

Hosted by UN-Water, the Sustainable Development Goal 6 Global Acceleration Framework launch will be a high-level and multi-stakeholder moment to generate commitments for ambitious solutions on water and sanitation in support of the Decade of Action to deliver SDGs by 2030. The Framework is driven by country demand and will align the international community to strengthen country planning, implementation and knowledge sharing for SDG 6 while supporting country response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The World Hydropower Congress brings together leading decision-makers, innovators and experts from industry, government, finance, civil society and academia.
