Special Launching Event, Water and Green Growth

Rapid economic growth and uncertainties of climate change have put water at greater risk and have increased the level of global water consumption over the last few decades. Therefore, in response to a business-as-usual approach, the greening paradigm has emerged as a solution to address water challenges, and, indeed, global development as a whole. Following a four-year joint collaboration between the Korean Government and the World Water Council, the Water and Green Growth Final Report provides support for the Water and Green Growth concept to achieve economic development through a sustainable approach that is both environmentally and socially sound. The session will present results of analyses, policy guideline and roadmap to encourage greater implementation of Water and Green Growth policies.
