International Conference on Water and Climate

    Rabat, Morocco

    As part of the push to place water at the heart of COP22, France, the Government of Morocco and the World Water Council are co-hosting the International Conference on Water and Climate under the overarching theme of “Water Security for Climate Justice.” To be held in Rabat, Morocco, 11–12 July, the conference will raise political awareness for the importance of water in tackling and adapting to climate change. A ministerial roundtable will be organized to give African states an opportunity to share their perspectives on water and climate issues specific to the continent. The program includes for plenary sessions as follows:

    11 July

     

    • 9:30-11:00 Opening Ceremony
    • 11:30-13:30 Session 1: Vulnerability of water to climate change
    • 15:00-17:00 Session 2: Place for water in the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the SDGs

    12 July

     

    • 9:00-11:00 : Session 3: Water-Energy-Food Security-Health-Education Alliance
    • 11:30-13:30 Session 4: Water and Financing mechanisms linked to climate change
    • 13:30-14:00 Closing
