The human right to water: an interdisciplinary focus and contributions on the central role of public policies in water and sanitation management

    This Workshop aims to create an interdisciplinary space for debate, thoughtful analysis and proposals in order to achieve public policies in water and sanitation management that guarantee the effective contribution of science, culture, politics and technological advancements to the attainment of the Human Right to Water and access to sanitation services in a fairer world of greater social justice, solidarity and with sustainable development. Peace and prevention of conflicts based in political and economic interests related to water will also be discussed.

    The President of the World Water Council, Benedito Braga, will participate as a keynote speaker on the theme: “The centrality of public policies in building the common welfare,” in the Panel on “Geopolitics of water: the impact of climate change in water systems. Conflicts and 

    Perspectives” which will be held on 23 February at 15:30.
