Help Shape the Future of Water: Open Call for Input on 11th World Water Forum Thematic Process

Submissions Open from 26 May to 25 June 2025

The 11th World Water Forum, co-hosted with the strong support of global partners, has officially launched an open call for input to shape the Forum’s thematic process. This call is an opportunity for water stakeholders, experts, and partners around the world to contribute to the development of thematic content for the Forum.

    Why This Matters

Following the successful Kick-Off and 1st Stakeholders’ Consultation Meetings, a collective vision for the Forum — “Action for a Better Tomorrow” — has emerged. Now, the process moves forward with your input.

Six central themes have been proposed to guide the Forum’s thematic work:

    1. Water Security

    2. Water Finance

    3. Water Diplomacy

    4. Water for Humans & Nature

    5. Value of Water

    6. Innovation for Water

These themes were explored in breakout sessions open to all participants. Now, the co-hosts invite further contributions on the proposed keywords and tentative topics under each theme — especially from those who were unable to participate in the breakout discussions.

    How to Contribute

We encourage you to send your feedback, suggestions, or additions related to any of the six themes. Your insights will help enrich the thematic outcomes and ensure the process reflects the diversity and depth of water-related issues across regions and sectors.

All inputs will be reviewed and considered in the further development of the Forum’s thematic roadmap.

    Thank You for Your Engagement

The World Water Council and the 11th World Water Forum National Secretariat extend their gratitude for your continued engagement and support. Your voice is essential in helping us build a comprehensive, inclusive, and action-oriented Forum.

📄 For more details, please consult the summary document of the Kick-Off Meeting, which includes the open call announcement and thematic outlines.

Let’s work together — for water, for people, for the planet.
