Call for Applications: Regional Process Coordinators for the 11th World Water Forum

As we move forward together on the journey to the 11th World Water Forum, to be held in Riyadh in 2027, we are pleased to invite institutions from across the globe to express their interest in becoming Regional Process Coordinators.

The Regional Process is a cornerstone of the World Water Forum, designed to ensure that global discussions on water reflect and respond to local realities, challenges, and innovations. Through region-specific dialogues and multi-stakeholder collaboration, this process will generate vital inputs that shape the Forum’s political, thematic, and strategic outcomes.

To guide this work, we are publishing the official Regional Process Guidelines, which detail the framework for participation and coordination. These guidelines outline the objectives, governance structure, deliverables, and ethical commitments expected from all actors engaged in the process.

We are now opening a Call for Regional Coordinators for the following five regions:

    • Africa
    • The Americas
    • Asia and the Pacific
    • Europe
    • Middle East and North Africa (MENA)

    Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants are institutions with demonstrated expertise in regional water issues, a strong stakeholder network, and the capacity to lead inclusive, results-oriented coordination. Each selected institution will designate a representative with experience in global water platforms and stakeholder engagement.

    What Does the Role Involve?
Regional Coordinators will lead the development of regional frameworks and roadmaps, mobilize stakeholders, oversee regional reporting, and ensure alignment with the Forum’s overall vision. Coordinators will also serve as key connectors across the Forum’s Political and Thematic processes.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Facilitate regional dialogues and intra-/inter-regional knowledge exchange
    • Develop regional workplans, reports, and showcase content
    • Engage diverse stakeholders (governments, civil society, private sector, youth, Indigenous peoples, etc.)
    • Uphold governance and ethical standards defined by the Forum
    • Align regional contributions with the Forum’s six themes and broader objectives

We encourage all interested institutions to review the Regional Process Guidelines thoroughly and submit their application through the documents provided below.

Your leadership and commitment are essential to shaping water solutions that are regionally grounded and globally impactful.
