Women’s Water Fund – Career advancement for women in the water sector

Women’s Water Fund was created under the initiative of Council member DHI. It was originally funded by the “King Hassan II Great World Water Prize” presented to Professor Torkil Jønch Clausen, Council Governor, at the Fourth World Water Forum in Mexico in 2006. The Fund helps women from developing countries advance their career opportunities in the field of water resources development and management. The Women’s Water Fund calls for applications from women in (or on their way into) middle management positions for a combined learning and mentoring program that draws on Danish expertise in water resources by offering a capacity building visit in Denmark.
    The program includes:
    • A one-week course on water resources and environmental technologies and management
    • A one-week internship at a Danish organization or company within the field of water
    • A one-year mentoring program with a senior Danish water manager as mentor for each participant.
A call for applications for the 2013 course has been launched and closes on the 21 June 2013. More information: dhigroup.com
