Rene Coulomb passes away

    Dear colleagues,

We have just learned of the passing of René Coulomb, one of the very first Governors of our Council.

René Coulomb, a distinguished water professional, spent his career at Lyonnaise des Eaux (now Suez). He contributed to the development of the Suez Company, particularly in France.

From the very beginning of the World Water Council, René Coulomb played a leading role alongside Mahmoud Abou Zeid and Ismael Serageldin, two of the Council's founders.

He was responsible for drafting the Council's statutes, most of which are still in force today.
René Coulomb served as Governor of the Council from 1996 to 2009, where he brought his dual experience as an engineer and manager.
We remember him as a man of great culture, committed to serving others and curious about all innovations, both technological and managerial.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.

    Loic Fauchon
