The World Water Council is an international multi-stakeholder organization, created in 1996 and based in Marseille. Its working languages are English and French. The World Water Council has 260 member organizations, which come from 52 countries across 5 continents.
The World Water Council’s mission is to gather the international community to convince decision-makers that water is a political priority for the sustainable and equitable development of the planet.
Discover our actions in favor of water worldwide, through advocacy and participation in international events, meetings and official travels.
The World Water Council’s strategy is based on defined priorities and implemented through various programs, within which Task Forces play a key role in advancing specific objectives.
We cannot protect what we have not first secured. To preserve, we must reserve. Reservoirs, aquifer recharge, storm-water capture and smart dams are the insurance policies of biodiversity and civilization alike.
The World Water Council welcomes organizations committed to addressing global water challenges. Membership is open to any organization that shares the World Water Council’s mission and objectives, as outlined in its Constitution and By-laws. Join a growing community of over 240 members working together to ensure water security for all.
The World Water Council catalyzes collective action during and in between each World Water Forum – the world’s largest event on water.
Organized every three years with a host country, the World Water Forum provides a unique platform where the water community and key decision makers can collaborate and make long-term progress on global water challenges.
