ProjectS & programs – Task Forces

Water for Humans and Nature

The Water for Humans and Nature Task Force prioritizes knowledge sharing and capacity building to emphasize the crucial role of water ecosystems in sustaining human life.

What is it ?

Understanding the complex interconnections between humans and nature —and among water, food, energy, health, ecosystems, socioeconomics, climate, governance, and education—is crucial to addressing global water challenges and developing tailored solutions.

This Task Force builds on work from previous mandates on Water and Ecological Security and Integrated Water Resources Management. It aims to promote a holistic systems view fostering collective efforts to conserve, protect and restore water-related ecosystems, particularly through nature-based solutions. Special attention is given to strengthening capacities and sharing knowledge at all levels to ensure the effective implementation of these approaches.
