Fauchon \u00e9tait l'un des plus de 120 intervenants internationaux et 400 participants qui se sont r\u00e9unis lors de la 10e conf\u00e9rence mondiale sur l'eau pour l'alimentation afin de discuter des moyens novateurs d'am\u00e9liorer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l'eau et de l'alimentation en renfor\u00e7ant la r\u00e9silience des agriculteurs face \u00e0 l'\u00e9volution du paysage. La conf\u00e9rence a \u00e9t\u00e9 organis\u00e9e par le Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute de l'universit\u00e9 du Nebraska (DWFI) et s'est tenue du 8 au 11 mai \u00e0 Lincoln (Nebraska). La conf\u00e9rence 2023 \u00e9tait un \u00e9v\u00e9nement partenaire du 10e Forum mondial de l'eau, le plus grand forum mondial consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 l'eau.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIl \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s stimulant de voir un groupe aussi engag\u00e9 de personnes venant de plus de 27 pays diff\u00e9rents travailler dans le m\u00eame but, partager des perspectives nouvelles et diff\u00e9rentes et \u00eatre si enthousiaste \u00e0 l'id\u00e9e de collaborations futures\u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Peter G. McCornick, directeur ex\u00e9cutif de DWFI.<\/p>\n<p>La conf\u00e9rence de quatre jours, situ\u00e9e au milieu d'un laboratoire vivant et au sommet du vaste aquif\u00e8re des Grandes Plaines, a permis d'explorer des sc\u00e9narios gagnant-gagnant pour favoriser une meilleure utilisation de l'eau dans l'agriculture et augmenter la productivit\u00e9 \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9chelles - des petits exploitants, collectifs et coop\u00e9ratives aux exploitations agricoles commerciales - tout en pr\u00e9servant les ressources en eau pour d'autres besoins humains et environnementaux.<\/p>\n<p>Sur le th\u00e8me \u201cCultiver l'innovation : Solutions pour un monde en mutation\u201d, la conf\u00e9rence s'est concentr\u00e9e sur la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de recherches, de technologies intelligentes, d'\u00e9laboration de politiques et de meilleures pratiques qui permettent de r\u00e9aliser des perc\u00e9es dans le cadre de cette mission d'une importance vitale. Des repr\u00e9sentants du monde universitaire, des agences gouvernementales, des groupes d'\u00e9laboration des politiques, des organisations \u00e0 but non lucratif, des organisations non gouvernementales, des entrepreneurs, des gestionnaires de l'eau, des cultivateurs, des \u00e9tudiants et de l'industrie priv\u00e9e sont venus participer \u00e0 plus de 35 sessions.<\/p>\n<p>Les sessions ont couvert un large \u00e9ventail de sujets importants, notamment le soutien, le financement et l'extension de la petite irrigation ; la s\u00e9cheresse, l'eau et la sant\u00e9 humaine ; la fixation d'objectifs d'entreprise en mati\u00e8re d'eau ; les innovations dans les technologies d'irrigation ; la bio\u00e9conomie circulaire ; l'intensification durable des cultures ; le renforcement de la gestion des risques de s\u00e9cheresse ; la gestion des terres et des sols ; ainsi que la mani\u00e8re dont nous continuerons \u00e0 encadrer la conversation autour de l'eau et de l'alimentation
