Cette ann\u00e9e, le Conseil mondial de l'eau et d'autres organisations internationales se sont efforc\u00e9s de mettre l'eau au centre des discussions sur les villes. La semaine derni\u00e8re, lors de la conf\u00e9rence des Nations unies sur le logement et le d\u00e9veloppement urbain durable (Habitat III), le \u201cnouvel agenda urbain\u201d a \u00e9t\u00e9 adopt\u00e9 en pr\u00e9sence d'un nombre record de participants. Ce document final, dans lequel l'eau est mentionn\u00e9e 28 fois, fournira le cadre de transformation pour les vingt prochaines ann\u00e9es de d\u00e9veloppement urbain durable. Il sera mis en \u0153uvre par le biais du plan de mise en \u0153uvre de Quito, dans le cadre duquel des engagements volontaires sp\u00e9cifiques contribueront \u00e0 sa r\u00e9alisation.<\/div>\n
Le Conseil mondial de l'eau a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 un certain nombre d'\u00e9v\u00e9nements au cours de la semaine. En particulier, M. Bert Diphoorn a repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 le Conseil mondial de l'eau lors d'un \u00e9v\u00e9nement le mardi 18 octobre, intitul\u00e9 \u201cAu-del\u00e0 des services de base\u201d, organis\u00e9 par le GWOPA \u00e0 UN-Habitat et l'Institut pour l'\u00e9tude avanc\u00e9e de la durabilit\u00e9 \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 des Nations Unies. Au cours de cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement, il a affirm\u00e9 que l'am\u00e9lioration des services d'eau dans les villes implique bien plus que des comp\u00e9tences techniques, mais d\u00e9pend \u00e9galement d'une volont\u00e9 politique accrue pour les questions li\u00e9es \u00e0 l'eau parmi les priorit\u00e9s concurrentes des maires et des autorit\u00e9s locales.<\/div>\n
Dans les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir, le Conseil mondial de l'eau continuera \u00e0 travailler sur la question de l'eau dans les villes comme l'une de ses initiatives strat\u00e9giques cl\u00e9s pour le mandat actuel, en plus de soutenir le processus des autorit\u00e9s locales et r\u00e9gionales dans la perspective du 8e Forum mondial de l'eau.<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
