Le th\u00e8me de la Journ\u00e9e mondiale de l'eau 2014 met en lumi\u00e8re l'interd\u00e9pendance de l'eau et de l'\u00e9nergie. Alors que la production et la transmission d'\u00e9nergie n\u00e9cessitent l'utilisation de ressources en eau, le pompage, le traitement et le transport de l'eau jusqu'aux consommateurs consomment environ 8% de la production mondiale d'\u00e9nergie.  \u201cLe th\u00e8me de cette ann\u00e9e correspond \u00e0 l'un des axes strat\u00e9giques du Conseil pour r\u00e9soudre les d\u00e9fis futurs en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l'eau\u201d, d\u00e9clare Benedito Braga, pr\u00e9sident du Conseil mondial de l'eau. En mai 2013, le Conseil a initi\u00e9 un partenariat avec Electricit\u00e9 de France (EDF) pour comprendre, dans une double approche, les liens multiples entre la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l'eau et le d\u00e9veloppement durable. <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worldwatercouncil.org\/fr\/node\/2656\/\" target=\"-\" title=\"Ouvre un lien interne dans la fen\u00eatre courante\">l'eau et l'\u00e9nergie<\/a>. Ce partenariat prolonge le travail initi\u00e9 en 2011 pour le 6e Forum mondial de l'eau et durera jusqu'en 2015, date \u00e0 laquelle les r\u00e9sultats seront pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s lors du 7e Forum en Cor\u00e9e. Le Conseil est \u00e9galement en train de conclure un accord avec le Conseil mondial de l'\u00e9nergie (CME), par la signature d'un protocole d'accord. En utilisant l'expertise des deux organisations, cet effort de coop\u00e9ration servira \u00e0 mieux analyser et comprendre les interactions entre l'eau et l'\u00e9nergie et \u00e0 encourager des politiques harmonis\u00e9es en mati\u00e8re d'eau et d'\u00e9nergie. \u201cL'eau a besoin d'\u00e9nergie et l'\u00e9nergie a besoin d'eau\u201d, r\u00e9sume le pr\u00e9sident Braga. \u201cD'ici 2050, nos besoins en \u00e9nergie auront augment\u00e9 d'environ 60%. Il est essentiel de comprendre l'interaction entre ces deux \u00e9l\u00e9ments vitaux pour assurer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de l'eau dans l'avenir.
