L'\u00e9v\u00e9nement, dont l'objectif est de faire en sorte que l'eau soit prise en compte dans les ODD apr\u00e8s 2015, \u00e9tait organis\u00e9 par les gouvernements de la Colombie, des Pays-Bas et de la Suisse, en collaboration avec l'UNSGAB et le Conseil mondial de l'eau, et avec la participation de l'ONU-Eau. Le pr\u00e9sident du Conseil mondial de l'eau \u00e9tait pr\u00e9sent et a prononc\u00e9 un discours en pr\u00e9sence du vice-secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral des Nations unies, Jan Eliasson, du vice-pr\u00e9sident et ministre des affaires \u00e9trang\u00e8res de la Suisse, Didier Burkhalter, du ministre du commerce ext\u00e9rieur et de la coop\u00e9ration au d\u00e9veloppement des Pays-Bas, Lilianne Ploumen, du vice-ministre des affaires multilat\u00e9rales de la Colombie, Patti Londo\u00f1o et Juanita Casta\u00f1o, membre du Conseil consultatif du Secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral des Nations unies sur l'eau et l'assainissement. Le pr\u00e9sident a soulign\u00e9 le besoin imm\u00e9diat de d\u00e9velopper des \u201capproches sans regret\u201d pour que les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s s'adaptent aux incertitudes climatiques et sociales et a termin\u00e9 son discours par une citation de L\u00e9onard de Vinci qui a dit :  \u201cNe pas anticiper, c'est d\u00e9j\u00e0 se lamenter\u201d.
