Rahman Md. Mahbubur - The Earth has a finite supply of fresh water, stored in aquifers, surface waters and the atmosphere which is insufficient for us. Bangladeshi women are the main victim of this crisis. Even they need to share the same well with Men for a bath. Sometimes, in some situations they need to fight, sacrifice their shyness for a little amount of potable water that led them to lead a “Prehistoric life”.
Deuxième Prix
Sukarno Jurnasyanto - Residents in North Jakarta’s slum area always have a problem with clean water. Since 15 years, they can't consume clean water from their own wells because it's infiltrated by salty sea water. The government has moved them to some cheap flats, but it still has not solved the problem. Many flats don't have water supplies, they must install pipes to get water from their water pumps. Some aid from NGOs for a piped water network failed because of resistance, threats and violence from the water mafia.
