Shanghai World Expo

World Expo Shanghai 2010 - "Better City, Better Life"

With 70 million visitors expected and nearly 200 countries represented, the World Expo will take place from 01 May to 31 October 2010. The 3rd largest event in the world, the World Expo will be held for the first time in history in a developing country.

Better Water, Better Cities...

The World Water Council’s contribution to the Shanghai World Expo 2010 focuses on the role of water in creating Better Cities for a Better Life. Working closely with members, the World Water Pavilion will explain and showcase successful ways of managing water within cities. It is also a visionary for sound water management in the cities of the future, within their local and basin contexts. Doing so will bring together generations to learn about water's role and to work towards a water-secure world.

World Water Pavilion

The 54m² World Water Pavilion will promote the theme of "Water for Life and Development." Designed around four learning areas along a virtual river, the six months will be punctuated by special events held within the World Water Pavilion. A Kids' Corner will be dedicated to hands-on activities for children.
