About the organization
POll is the leading School of Engineering in Latin America. Its Department of Hydraulic and Sanitary Engineering develops a variety of programs in the area of Water Resources Management and environmental engineering. The Department is responsible for an environmental engineering program that uses resources thourghout University of Sao Paulo. The Water Resources Management program provides undergraduate and graduate courses in hydraulic and sanitary infrastructure development, integrated river basin management, enviromental conservation and water resources institutional development.

Civil engineer with a Phd (stanford University - USA) in water resources management. Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Sao Paulo on leave of absence at the National Water Agency of Brazil. Former President of IWRA during which term strenghened the relations od professional associations with the Coubcil. Fiels of Expertise: Decision Support Systems, Water Resources systems Management, Flood Forecasting and Control, Multiple Objective Reservoir Operation, Civil and Environmental Engeeniring.

Prof. Goncalves is a leading expert in the area of efficient water use in residential, commercial and industrial sectors. He has developed serveral projects at national level in Brazil with practical applications of concepts of water re-use and efficient utilization of water resources.
