About the organization
Korea Water Forum is a non-profit organization, a think tank aimed at providing outlooks for the future of water, developing networks with global communities to figure out contemporary issues and to find how to contribute to deal with them wisely and effectively by promoting interactive communication among various stakeholders. With this point of view, Korea Water Forum is organizing lots of activities to make the public and stakeholders of Korea recognize water-related challenges and what to do for sustainable policies and for the future. In addition, we concentrate on sharing advanced knowledge and information with international societies and providing Korea’s good experiences and technologies in water sectors to solve water-related problems and challenges the whole world is facing at this moment. Detailed activities by Korea Water Forum are as below:

About the Governor representative

Eunkyung PARK
Dr. Eun-Kyung Park(Ms), the president of Korea Water Forum, is a cultural anthroplogist, who has done research on Chinese ethinic groups aboard, specifically in Southeast Asia and Korea. She taught at universities for 22 years and swithed her life toward environmental advocacy and research by founding the Environment and Culture Institute in 1999. She is the Eminent Person of Asia-Pacific Region of UNEP for SEPD(Sub-regional Environmental Policy Dialogue). Throughout the preparatory process of WSSD(World Summit on Sustainable Development) 2001-2002, Dr. Park represented the Korea government. Dr. Park has participated in the governmental policy making process through several presidential commissions. Also, she was the President of National YWCA of Korea and was also honorded to be elected twice as Vice President of World YWCA. At present, Dr. Park is the President of Korea Water Forum and implements various activities to make a balance between governmental authorities and stakeholders at national level. In addition, as environmental specialist who has strong and tied netwoks with UN agencies, Dr. Park is focusing on developing the capacity of Korea Water Forum and Korea itself in environment, especially in water sectors to share opinions and knowledges globally and to contribute to deal with water challenges with others in a cooperated way.
About the Alternate representative

Sangyoung PARK
Dr. PARK, SANGYOUNG (Mr.) is an environmental system engineer. He has been researching various subjects in water environment field covering diffused pollutant modeling, basin management and decision support system at K-water (Korea Water Resources Corporation) Institute as a research fellow since 2005. Dr. Park actively involved in international joint research projects such as transboundary environmental issues between Mongolia and Russia and development of decision support system for integrated water resources management (IWRM) for Citarum River basin in Indonesia. At present, Dr. Park is the Secretary-General of Korea Water Forum (KWF) and managing the organization at practical level.
