DHI's Women's Water Fund

'Advancing career opportunities in water management for women in developing countries' is the ambition of the Women's Water Fund. Created in 2006, this initiative benefits from the "King Hassan II Great World Water Prize" presented to Prof. Torkil Jønch Clausen of DHI at the Fourth World Water Forum.

Twice a year, the Women's Water fund has a call for application for a combined career learning and mentoring program that draws on Danish expertise in water resources by offering capacity building visits to Denmark. The courses include:

  • participation in relevant short courses/e-learning on water resources technologies and management at M.Sc. or Ph.D. level;
  • learning visits at Danish organisations in the field of water;
  • a mentoring component that includes Senior Danish managers as mentors for each candidate
