Water Prizes

The World Water Council has two prestigious water related Prizes, which are awarded on the occasion of the triennial World Water Forum: The King Hassan II Great World Water Prize and the Kyoto World Water Grand Prize.

King Hassan II Great World Water Prize

With the main theme of "Cooperation and sound management in the development and use of water resources", this prestigious Prize (US$ 100,000) is awarded to an institution, organization, individual or group of individuals in honor of their outstanding achievements in any aspects of water resources.

Kyoto World Water Grand Prize

This Prize showcases grassroots initiatives that aim to improve the water-related situation of local communities around the world. The winning organisation will be invited to the 7th World Water Forum, which will be held in Daegu-Gyeongbuk (Republic of Korea) from 12 to 17 April 2015, and will receive an award of 2 million JPY (around 20,000 USD), to be used to fund the continuation of its activities.
