About the organization
The AWRA is an international professional association dedicated to fostering communication amongst all disciplines included in the water resources research, management, education, and research. We build community throught conversation and connections by publishing the world's only multi-disciplinary peer reviewed journal, a magazine focus on practical solutions to today's water challenges and through conducting three scientific conferences annually on cutting edge water resources topic. AWRA has currently 3000 members, corporates and individuals.

Kenneth REID
Kenneth D. Reid, CAE, is Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Water Ressources Association, a scientific, educational association for men and women involved in water ressources research, planning and management. He has served in this capacity since 1981. He was a member of the American Society of Association Executives' (ASAE) first class of Future Leaders and was selected as a fellow member of ASAE in 1991. He has been active on numerous committees and is a former member of the ASAE Board of directors. In 2000 Reid was selected as the recipient of the Key Award, the highest recognition given to an association executive by the American Society of Association Executives. He was a member of the Geater Washington Society of Association Executives (GWSAE) and served on the Board of Directors of the GWSAE Foundation. He is a member of the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives. Reid is past chair of the National Institute for Organizational Management Board of Trustees. He has a Bachelor of science degree in Biology and a Master of science degree in Environmental Studies. He is also Past President of the George Mason University Alumni Association and is a member of the international Waster Academy.

Gerald GALLOWAY
Gerry Galloway is Glenn L Martin Institute Professor of Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park and a Visiting Scholar at the US Army Corps of Engineers Institute for Water Resources. Prior to joining the Maryland faculty, he was Vice President for Geospatial Strategies, ES3 Sector of the Titan Corporation. A civil engineer, public administrator and geographer, he also serves as a water resources and flood mitigation consultant to a variety of national and international government organizations. He has served as a Presidential appointee to the Mississippi River Commission and the American Heritage Rivers Advisory Committee and as Secretary of the US Section of the Canada-US International Joint Commission. In 1994, he was assigned to the White House to lead a committee in assessing the causes of the 1993 Mississippi River Flood. During a 38-year career in the military he served in various command and staff assignments in Germany, Southeast Asia and the United States, retiring in 1995 as a brigadier general and Dean of the Academic Board at the US Military Academy. He holds a Bachelors degree from West Point, a Master’s degree in Engineering from Princeton, a Master’s in Public Administration from Penn State (Capitol Campus), a Master’s in Military Art and Science from the US Army Command and General Staff College and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill). He has served as an AWRA delegate to the World Water Fora and is currently a member of the World Water Assessment Programme Technical Advisory Committee.
