King Hassan II Great World Water Prize: Deadline for applications extended to 31 October 2014
Jointly organized by the Government of Morocco and the World Water Council, the 5th edition of the King Hassan II Great World Water Prize will reward excellence or innovation in “Cooperation and sound management in the development and use of water resources.” The winner will be granted an award of US$100,000.
7th World Water Forum: Registration is open
15 September 2014 – Marseille, France / Daegu & Gyeongbuk, Rep. of Korea. The largest water-related event in the world will open 12-17 April 2015 in Daegu & Gyeongbuk, putting water firmly on the international agenda. A three-year preparatory process will culminate in one week of sessions, debates and cultural activities, where water experts come together with policy makers and civil society.
President of Mexico greets World Water Council Governors
26 June 2014, Mexico City, Mexico - “Water has always been a priority in the agenda of the Mexican Government as an engine for economic development and to protect vital ecosystems,” said World Water Council President, Benedito Braga, during the 52nd Board of Governors meeting, closed by the President of Mexico, H.E. Enrique Peña Nieto.
