Thanks to the 7th World Water Forum’s Implementation Roadmaps housed on the online Action Monitoring System, members can continually track progress on any of the 16 themes that figured in the 7th World Water Forum.
World Water Council celebrates World Water Day in 2016
This year’s World Water Day on the theme of “water and jobs” provides the perfect opportunity to highlight some of the main conclusions of World Water Council’s program on Water and Green Growth, conducted with the Government of the Republic of Korea from 2010 to 2015. This cooperation led to the launch of its final report at the 7th World Water Forum in April of last year.

The idea of forming a ‘world water council’ to unite efforts in global water management was first proposed in 1992 at the UN Conference on Environment and Development in Dublin and at the first Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. Over the next few years, there was much discussion and debate to establish the vision, objectives and scope of activities for such an organization.
