Work on sanitation commences

The World Water Council officially launched the project “Increasing Financial Flows for Sanitation”, inscribed in the “Cities: At the heart of growth” Task Force’s work plan.

The project aims at identifying the most appropriate financial mechanisms that could better support the development of the sanitation sector of three pre-selected cities, with the purpose of raising awareness about innovative financing instruments to increase sanitation provisions and to involve more actors in the national sanitation financing plans.

Under the guidance of a coordinating consultant, three local experts are developing the analysis for the cities of Blumenau in Brazil, Nairobi in Kenya and Jodhpur in India, selected as case studies.
