CATALYST: CALIFORNIA. VIRTUAL TOWN HALL SERIES. California faces an urgent test of civic and environmental resilience. The state is developing blueprints for the nation and the world as it grapples with accelerating water crises. Bring your voice and be ready to participate in timely and dynamic virtual town hall meetings. AUGUST 18, 2015 ~ CATALYST CALIFORNIA: ADAPTING TO NEW NORMALS Will El Niño save the day? With a resolve that few other countries or regions can match, California is writing the script for a new era — not only for drought but for deluge as well. Rain and snow will return. The drought will end. The water supply challenges, however, will not. Four years of desperately dry conditions have exposed deep vulnerabilities in how California and the nation manages, transports, and accounts for its water. The drought also reveals a state that is determined to confront the 21st-century reality of a warming planet. On August 18, share in stories of transition: how California’s cities, farm districts, and elected officials are making investments and urgently writing forward-thinking policies that will try to reshape the state’s water future. Take part, ask questions, bring your ideas, and participate in one of the most important conversations in a generation. Experts include: Martin L. Adams
