Budapest, 2 December 2016 – The Budapest Water Summit 2016 ended on Wednesday after three days of High Level Panels and Forums and months of international consultative processes. During a special ceremony, participants presented the Budapest Water Summit Messages and Policy Recommendations which lay out the concrete directions and guidelines needed to ensure the successful implementation of the Agenda 2030 and its water-related goals.

World Water Council presents Water Action Day outcomes at CoP22

The World Water Council, through its Honorary President Loïc Fauchon, was pleased to be able to report on the outcomes of the first Action Day for Water in the history of the CoPs at the High-level Event on Accelerating Climate Action held on the eve of the closing ceremony of CoP22.

Bringing together water and climate at COP22

The World Water Council is actively engaged at the COP22 which kicked-off on the 7th of November and  continues through until 18 November. In particular, the Council has worked closely over the past year with the French and Moroccan CoP Presidencies and other partners to facilitate the organization of the first official UNFCCC Global Climate Action Day for Water on 9 November in Marrakech. The collaborative action of members of the global water community has enabled CoP22 to become a landmark in the history of the UN Climate Conference, making water much more visible within the climate debate.  Click below to read more about World Water Council activities at the COP22.
