Further to the 2nd Stakeholder Consultation Meeting last April in Brasilia, the Secretariat of the 8th World Water Forum opens the opportunity to provide suggestions for Thematic Sessions. Suggestions can be provided until 31 May 2017.

Water security for greater social justice

World Water Council President Benedito Braga participated in an international workshop focused on the Human Right to Water and held at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences in Vatican City on 23 February. Speaking during the seminar “Geopolitics of water: the impact of climate change in water systems. Conflicts and perspectives”, President Braga focused his message on the absolute necessity of building water security to overcome the challenges brought by a changing climate to ensure peace worldwide.

Implementation Roadmaps: third report released

Marseille, 12 April 2017 - The World Water Council, in collaboration with Korea Water Forum and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea have just released the third edition of the Progress Report on Implementation Roadmaps, exactly two years since the 7th World Water Forum took place in April 2015.
