More than 20 engineers from SEM have delivered speeches during the different and successive Forum, in the various processes- regional, thematic, SDGs and in specialized conferences such as “Water and Climate”. Several directors and specialist engineers of SEM have been regularly involved in the life of the WWC by attending general assembly, different meetings and working groups. Société des Eaux de Marseille has been committed for a long time to support the activities of the WWC in all areas of action and bring the voice of the expertise as an on-site operator with a good and long-lasting experience in international operations and skill transfers with other countries. During the mandate of Mr Loic Fauchon as President of the WWC for more than 10 years, SEM was proud to be part of the “ voice for water” at international levels and is willing to continue to support the WWC to making Dakar 2021 a successful Forum and advocate the cause of water at international levels and in the COP processes.
For what reasons do you wish your organisation to have a seat on the Board of Governors ? Société des Eaux de Marseille is willing to support the activities of the WWC, to serve the international advocacy of water at a global level, because as an on-site water operator it is conscious of the enormous challenges related to water and sanitation questions at a global scale. SEM is also sharing the main current objectives of the WWC : improve the implementation of the right to water and sanitation, include the question of water in the global challenge of climate change, give Africa a chance to solve its water and sanitation problems, support sustainable development, gender equality related to water, fair financing, and share know-how and expertise with other countries and sectors. The WWC can count on the motivation, expertise and will of SEM to bring thoughts and action whenever needed. Concrete contributions will be provided to share a common involvement with other stake-holders such as government representatives, NGos, corporations and civil society. SEM is also willing to promote dialogue with all stakeholders within the WWC.
