Description of your Organisation's activities : | TSITT develops cooperation among water utilities, consultants, manufacturers, contractors and experts through its trainings, publications and events. TSITT holds annual water loss forum in conjunction with no-dig (trenchless technology) conference in order to improve the water supply, increase the capacity of stakeholders and seek alternative financial options for the water economics. |

background : | Torun graduated as Mechanical Engineer from Istanbul Technical University. He worked at Istanbul Water Utility as supervising engineer for the construction of pipelines, water reservoirs and pumping stations projects. He contributed the studies of 5th World Water Forum through serving as the Coordinator of Topic 2.1 on Ensuring Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for All. He completed his Master's Degree at Istanbul University with his graduation dissertion entitled ‘Water Management in The Metropolises and Evaluation of Water Management in Two Metropolises (Istanbul and Moscow)'. He serves as the Chair of TSITT since 2010. He serves as the Chair of Water Loss Turkey Forums since 2014. His articles has been published in several professional magazines, conference proceedings and newspapers. Torun has also been featured on CNN Turk, NTV, TGRT and in other tv-radio channels for his expertise on water industry and trenchless technology. |

Please describe the involvement of your organisation within the World Water Council and state how long it has been involved in World Water Council activities : | TSITT has been active in water industry since its establishment. Several high-level managers along with technical chiefs are members of TSITT. As TSITT holds annual water loss forum in conjunction with no-dig (trenchless technology) conference in order to improve the water supply, increase the capacity of stakeholders and seek alternative financial options for the water economics; several water institutions expressed their comments and wishes on the involvement of TSITT within the World Water Council may increase the influence of TSITT's national and international activities. With respect to aforementioned demands, TSITT applied to become a member of World Water Council. TSITT evaluates its relationship with WWC as a strategic cooperation for the future of water. |
For what reasons do you wish your organisation to have a seat on the Board of Governors ? | TSITT has gained highly qualified local, national and international management skills in terms of water and its infrastructures. TSITT has held and contributed several local, national and international platforms and events to improve the water supply, increase the capacity of stakeholders and seek alternative financial options for the water economics. TSITT believes it may contribute the World Water Council for its vital role in future of water. For the above reasons, but not limited to these, TSITT wishes to serve on the Board of Governors. |
