Description of your Organisation's activities : DOLSAR Engineering Inc.Co. (DOLSAR), established in 1971, is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm which performs engineering, architectural, consultancy and supervision services for large-scale projects in a wide range of fields. DOLSAR is completely independent of any contractor or manufacturer and exclusively represents the interest of its clients. DOLSAR has successfully performed services in the fields of water and land resources development, energy production and distribution, environment, transportation and buildings. As being one of the leading and most experienced engineering and consultancy companies in Turkey, DOLSAR has undersigned various significant projects, which are financed by various financing institutions such as World Bank (WB), International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), European Union (EU), European Investment Bank (EIB), African Development Bank (AFDB), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Islamic Development Bank (ISDB), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) in Turkey and abroad either working alone or by cooperating with worldwide known engineering and consultancy companies. DOLSAR is a member of International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), European Federation of Consulting Associations (EFCA), Association of Turkish Consulting Engineers and Architects (TMMMB) and has substantial experience in the application of FIDIC conditions of contracts and international standards. The DOLSAR staff, a multi-disciplinary group of experienced civil, electrical, mechanical, geological, environmental, agricultural, and forestry engineers, architects, economists, city/regional planners and sociologists, have been involved in many major projects from the planning stage to commissioning. This staff of experts, long employed by the firm, is managed by the DOLSAR Head Office in Ankara; an office having approximately 2500 m2 of office area and equipped with various facilities. DOLSAR also has branch offices in Tirana (Albania), Tblisi (Georgia), Lahore (Pakistan) and Istanbul (Turkey) and site offices at various locations providing design and construction supervision and consultancy services for the projects undertaken by the firm. background : Mr. Sinan Aker has 35 years of experience in the planning, feasibility, design and consturction supervison of major multi-disciplinary projects in the fields of water supply, sanitation water treatment plants and energy projects.he has sepnt all of his professional life for the master plan, feasibility and final design projects of water resources projects. He is experienced in optimization studies and cascade operation of reservoirs. He coordinated several water supply and sanitation, projects. Mr. Aker has vast experinece in peraparation of assessment reports, evaluation, feasibility studies, contract documents, preconstruction services, monitoring work programs, CPM, Optimization, cost/benefit analyses, project economy. ın addition to hisnative language,he is fluent in English. His activities also included the participation to the work shops and site tests as well as commissioning of various water related projects. He is involved with many projects financed by international lenders such as EIB, WB, KfW, AFDD, EU. He is experienced in ESIA and H&S. He wants to share his experience in water sector and to support the WWC activities.

background : Cem AKER has recived his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from University of Nothingham and received his M.Sc. in Civil Engineering (Construction Management) from University of Southern California. He has a MBA degree from Middle East Technical University. After his graduation, he joined DOLSAR engineering and started to work as a civil engineering. He was involved in the design services of several water supply, sanitation and water treatment plant projects in Turkey and outside Turkey. He in addition to his native language, speaks English and German. He is ready to contribute his knowledege in water issues and to be at the service of WWC.

Organisation statement:
Please describe the involvement of your organisation within the World Water Council and state how long it has been involved in World Water Council activities : DOLSAR is one of the oldest members of WWC namely since 1997 and is involved in many activities, specially played an important role for the preparation of the 5th World Water Forum in İstanbul. Also Dolsar Contributed to the activities of WWC whenever needed and necessary.
For what reasons do you wish your organisation to have a seat on the Board of Governors ? We want to contribute to the ativities of WWC because, Turkey is one of the primary countries dealing with water and have a great deal of know-how. DOLSAR have more than 40 years of experiecne in the management and coordination of major water related project and can share his experience. DOLSAR was havily involved with the 5th World Water Forum during preparation stage as well as during the week of teh FORUM. Therefore we are wanting to share this know how for the future success of WWC and the Fora. Due to the wide international experinece in the engineering and consultancy services for water related issues, as wella s due to the experinece from the 5th World Water Forum DOLSAR's contribution on the technical side in general and organization side to the Forum to WWC may be useful. In addition to teh WWC activities, DOLSAR is involved in water related events and wants to serve to WWC as much as possible.
