Description of your Organisation's activities : COALMA offers a public / private platform that brings together the relevant stakeholders involved in the field of water, sanitation and climate change. The objectives and missions which the «COALMA» gives itself consider the importance of awareness of the vital importance of water for sustainable development in general and for food safety in particular, as well as to value, share, promote and make known the Moroccan experiences in this field. - The organization of symposiums, seminaries and scientific events, - The planning and / or the implementation, alone or through partners chosen for that purpose, of projects in the fields of water and environment, - The deployment of capacity building actions, - COALMA» promotes water governance able to contribute to the registration of water in the priorities of the African and international political agenda and favor an integrated water-resources management within the framework of a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, - Promote the raising of awareness of the effects of climate change on the availability of water resources in direction of private sector, - Promote the Public Private Partnership, 
 - Participate in the exchange of experiences relative to innovations, to methodologies and to the best practices for the efficient and rational use of water, 
 - Contribute and lead actions of communication and sensitization, - Strengthen exchanges and regional, - promote and make known the Moroccan experiences by field visits.

Professor of Higher Education /Water Law and Environment Law as such Holder of the Interdisciplinary UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Management of Water (named By the Ministry of higher Education, 1998- 2017). Co-chair of two university programmes as: 1. Master :« Water and Sustainable Development ». 2. Training and Research Department/PhD « Water and Civilisation ». She was : • Finalist candidate ex aequo for the post of “UN Rapporteur on Water and Sanitation”. UN Human Right Council, Genenva. • Short Listed Candidate as President of International Union for International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) (2005). • Member of the Moroccan National Delegation to the Conference of Parties “COP 21”, Paris, France. She is Initiator and Chairperson of International Water and Sanitation Technology Fair, SITeau, organised in Casablanca on a bi-annual basis (5 editions). She realized several publication an a Book “du droit de l’eau au droit à l’eau au Maroc et ailleurs”, (From the
water law to the right to Water in Morocco and in international level)
a reference publication, published by the UNESCO and the United Nations University. Her training and her actions give her experience and knowledge of the field and the important social, associative and institutional functioning. As former member of WWC Board of Governors, (three terms ), she understands its values and goals and maintains relationships with the networks represented.

background : Mohammed FIKRAT, graduate of Ecole Centrale de Paris, is Chief Executive Officer of COSUMAR Group. After holding several responsibilities within the OCP Group from 1981 to 2004, namely Strategy and Development Director, Director of Jorf Lasfar phosphate valorisation platform, Managing Director of EMAPHOS (Euro Maroc Phosphore) and Managing Director of IMACID (Indo Maroc Phosphore), he joined, in october 2004, COSUMAR Group, the sugar industry leader in Morocco. Since 2004 to date, Mohammed Fikrat has led, in partnership with the stakeholders, a great structuring sugar sector program aimed at continuous performance improvement of the upstream agricultural and sugar factories, according to a CSR strategy for sustainable development of the sector, the circular economy, safeguarding of the natural resources, energy and water.  Mohammed FIKRAT is currently President of the Moroccan Interprofessional Sugar Federation (FIMASUCRE), President of  Professional Sugar Association (APS), member of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, President of the National Agrifood Federation (FENAGRI), Vice President of the Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX), President of the Ain Sebaa Hay Mohammadi Industrial Zone Association (AZIAN), President of the Interprofessional Group for Prevention and Security (GIPSI), Vice President and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Moroccan Coalition for Water (COALMA). Mohammed Fikrat was President of the Investment, Competitiveness and Industrial Compensation Committee at the CGEM (General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises) from 2012 to 2018.  In 2009 and 2010, he, respectively, assumed the Vice Presidency and then the Presidency of the International Sugar Organization.

Please describe the involvement of your organisation within the World Water Council and state how long it has been involved in World Water Council activities : As a member of the World Water Council, COALMA offers a public / private platform that brings together the relevant stakeholders involved in the field of water, sanitation and climate change. It shares most of the values and orientations of the WWC. Indeed, the objectives and missions which the «COALMA» gives itself consider the importance of awareness of the vital importance of water for sustainable development in general and for food safety in particular, as well as to value, share, promote and make known the Moroccan experiences in this field. COALMA partage et diffuse les valeurs et les orientations retenues par le WWC, more particularly, the «COALMA» promotes water governance able to: • Contribute to the registration of water in the priorities of the African and international political agenda, • Promote the raising of awareness of the effects of climate change on the availability of water resources • Strengthen the management of demands as well as an optimal valuation of the mobilized water ecosystems, 
 • Favor an integrated water-resources management within the framework of a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, 
 • Raise awareness on the reduction of pollution and on the protection of ground water quality, 
 • Participate and encourage actions and the projects that promote the economy of water, the fight against overexploitation, its rational use, the fight against its wasting and the promotion of the technologies which contribute to it, 
 • Pursue the perfection or even the evolution of the current legislative and regulatory framework, the adoption of the texts of application necessary for its implementation and ensure watch, 
 • Promote the Public Private Partnership, 
 • Participate in the exchange of experiences relative to innovations, to methodologies and to the best practices for the efficient and rational use of water, 
 • Contribute and lead actions of communication and sensitization in particular of citizens and major users in the field of conservation of water resources, 
 • Encourage and support research / development / action with research institutes and national and international specialized bodies, 
 • Strengthen exchanges and regional and international cooperation in the field of water, even to mobilize adequate funding.
For what reasons do you wish your organisation to have a seat on the Board of Governors ? COALMA is a member of the WWC. It shares its values ​​and orientations and considers that it can contribute to the Council's achievements and in particular to the World Water Forum preparation processes. Being a platform that brings together the private public stakeholders of water in Morocco, COALMA benefits from a legitimacy that it can put at the service of the Council. At the same time, COALMA has an ambition of cooperation especially South-South and to get involved in networks in order to exchange information and experiences. The Council offers this opportunity. In addition, Morocco offers the Hassan Prize and some of its members are involved in the process of preparing this award.
